Home Page - Why Recall

CANNOT AFFORD JIMENEZ MULTI-MILLION GIVEAWAYS

We cannot afford Jimenez remaining in office.  Jimenez has voted for or supported giving away almost $34,000,000 of taxpayer money to a New York Corporation.  Jimenez and her supporters will say a recall election will cost too much - maybe $100k.  We can afford an election.  What we cannot afford is Jimenez and her muti-million dollar giveaways.

GIVE EDISON ANOTHER $1,200,000

On September 13, 2011 giving Edison another $1,200,000 of you tax money.  School District CFO transferred $600,000 without consulting the School Board.  Was she told it was OK?

UNILATERALLY AND WITHOUT CAUSE

The school board terminated the contract of the Superintendent "unilaterally and without cause" on May 12.  The three board members voting for the firing of the Superintendent have publicly stated they "did not have a reason" to end this contract.  This type of decision will cost the district over $385,000 - which we do not have to spend.  Jimenez ignores the public and taxpayers.

Jimenez is now trying to give the impression the board had a reason to terminate the Superintendent.  This shows her misconduct and lack of understanding of her duties as a member of the school board.  If the board had a reason, they should have followed their duty and terminated accordingly.

VOTES CAST FOR ALL WEST COVINA CHILDREN

This member of the school is so delusional and out of touch with the real world that she is telling members of the public the she has cast as a member of the school board benefit all the children in West Covina.  Yet, Jimenez refuses to answer one very simple question: "How does giving a New York Corporation over $34,000,000, while demanding an increase in school lunch prices and closing of schools benefit the children of West Covina?"

BUDGET DEFICIT, RAISE PRICE OF SCHOOL LUNCHES

Jimenez votes to give her charter school $200,000 while pushing to raise the cost of school lunches.  The $200,000 in free rent and upgrades increased budget deficit for all other schools.  Building and upgrades for second multi-purpose room and break room.

NOT LEADERSHIP FOR A BRIGHTER FUTURE

The leadership supplied has started our school district down the path of destruction.  Jimenez continues to give money, all our schools need to function, to one school - "for-profit" Edison Learning, a New York Corporation.  The children of Jimenez go to this school.  Under the Jimenez leadership model, Jimenez voted for or supports giving Edison Learning $200,000 in buildings and upgrades, transferring $175,000 in ADA to San Jose Edison, reducing fees paid by Edison for facilities, oversight, and services by another $400,000 yearly.  This has increased the budget deficit faced by all other school by $775,000 per year.

INDEPENDENT CHARTER - THE REAL PLAN (Per Edison Documents)

EdisonLearning wants to become an independent charter.  Why would a company give up all this profit?  Well, appoint a board of directors recruited by the Principal and loyal to EdisonLearning.  The board will allow payments beneficial to EdisonLearning, not the school.  Edison Learning has stated via published documents they will charge fee knowing the school cannot pay in full.  Keeps school financially dependent on the "for-profit" New York Company.

The Board of the "Independent" Charter will increase profits by using students to work in the school (yard work, painting, cleaning), reduce paid staff, cut the school year to 180 days, charge for summer school, increase class size 20%, and reduce the length of school day.

NO INTEREST IN ALL DISTRICT SCHOOLS

Jimenez, with the knowledge of a budget deficit of $3,000,000 to $7,000,000 proposes cuts to all schools, except the charter school her children attend.  Jimenez gives them $200,000 more and proposes changes to insure other schools are cut, but her charter school will see budget increase.

When EdisonLearning complained they did not have enough cover for all children to eat when it was hot or raining, Ms. Jimenez immediately demand something be done to solve this "horrible" situation.  Ms. Jimenez said "no" child show have to put with these conditions.

At the board meeting on June 14, 2011 a parent told the board that three other schools do not have sufficient cover for all students to be protected when it rains or it is too hot.  What did Ms. Jimenez who stated "no" child should face these "horrible" conditions - NOTHING!  It was not Edison.

SCHOOLS NOW LESS SAFE

Jimenez's website says "Schools need to be safe places where kids can learn knowing the district has done everything possible to protect them."  The school resource officer (Police Officer) assigned to the high school will be removed due to budget constraints.  Jimenez votes to give money via reduced fees to Edison Learning totally $200,000.  Is this doing "everything possible to protect them"?  Jimenez thinks New York is more important than West Covina.

EdisonLearning has demanded that the school district pay for security at San Jose Edison, but the three member board majority will not pay for other schools!

Jimenez states the high school can just hire another yard supervisor, as they can do the job just as well as the police.  Jimenez continues to show her inability to understand the importance of school safety - only one of the items she ran on in 2009.

EDISON VIOLATES CONTRACT - COST WCUSD $200,000

EdisonLearning, unilaterally and without approval of the school board increased the number of students above contract limits and increased the number of students in each class without approval.  Since the students were pulled from WCUSD, the district had to move teachers, classes, and staff.  The loss to WCUSD was around $200,000 per year.

INDEPENDENT CHARTER - Free $16,000,000 school

Jimenez supports allowing EdisonLearning becoming an independent charter.  Charter school will get $16,000,000 school for free.  Charter school gets tax money, but is run by board hand-picked by EdisonLearning from New York City.  This school costs the taxpayers over $300,000 per year in bond payments, maintenance, and upkeep for the newest and most modern district school.

INDEPENDENT CHARTER - HIDE $18,000,000 IN PROFIT

Jimenez upset when the public discovered charter school management company made over $18,000,000 off the charter school.  Supports becoming independent charter to limit public's oversight of school and ability of school board to limit excess spending by school.

THREATENING TO HARM EMPLOYEES

Cox, Jimenez, and Spence have already threatened the hard working members of our school district with termination for supporting the Superintendent.  Spence walked by employees and told them, "just wait until the cuts start."

One Cox, Jimenez, and Spence supporter "Dr.VeronicaRomo" (Jimenez Taco Tuesday Friend) stated on facebook to an employee who spoke in support of the Superintendent at the May 12 meeting she wanted to speak with him and he "did not have to worry about his job."  "Dr.VeronicaRomo" does not work for the district, does not speak for the district, so why mention the persons job was not at risk?  Some special insight on the budget or special information from board member Jimenez?

RUNNING FOR CITY COUNCIL

Jimenez is working to insure she gets her school and children everything before attempting to move on to the city council.  On the city council she will demand to close the police and fire departments.  Jimenez wants the county to take over so her husband can work closer to home.

Jimenez supporters have been "polling" the public to determine her chances to run, although she denies this fact.  Polling has included the names of declared candidates, current council members, and those who have expressed an interest in running - like Steve Cox.  If Jimenez had not expressed an interest, her name would not be part of the poll.

SLASH & BURN BUDGET

Jimenez wants to make severe and dangerous cuts to programs in the school district while giving more money to her school and children.  The cuts proposed by Ms. Jimenez are unneccessary and unreasonable with $20,000,000 in the bank.

AVOID ISSUES - ATTACK OTHERS

Jimenez and her supporters on the board (Cox and Spence) attacked those who speak out against them.  They are "agitators" or were forced to speak out.  This coming from Mike Spence who refers to himself as a "political operative and blogger."

These three will attack and have attached the people working on this recall at a personal level.  Cox pointed out to one member of the audience that he knew the person's child attended our schools on a permit.  A threat to cancel the permit?

Mr. Cox does not know the law - only voters residing in WCUSD may gather signatures.

TURNDOWN BOARD MEMBER, GET FIRED

Jimenez goes along with the mistreatment of the Superintendent.  From the letter on this site, it appears Steve Cox has a "crush" on the former Superintendent.  When she refused his advances he votes to fire her in retaliation.  The Superintendent could win millions from the district, but Jimenez does not care as it is only the taxpayers money.

UNWILLING TO TALK ABOUT TOE FUNGUS, GET FIRED

Jimenez spent time at the district office discussing various parts of her body, especially her toes.  When told this wasted staff time Jimenez votes to fire person protecting staff.

ATTEMPTED TO MODIFY EDISON LEARNING CONTRACT

Eileen Miranda Jimenez requested modifications to management contract, unilaterally.  Jimenez did not have a request from the School Board or EdisonLearning to start negotiations to modify the contact.  Jimenez requested the board place the item on the agenda.  When asked how this request came about, Jimenez stated she wanted it placed on the agenda as a parent.

Jimenez was clueless that such a unilateral request put the district in possible legal liability for breach of contract, because she wanted a change not discussed with the parties involved.

DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM, GIVE ME A DRESSING ROOM

Jimenez demanded a staff member clear out a classroom for her to change clothes at a school function.  Jimenez can't use a restroom or have stopped at home which was 3 blocks away.  Jimenez added she could destroy staff member's career.

WATCH MY CHILDREN

Jimenez demands staff watch her children while attending school events.  Staff are not babysitters.  Jimenez does not ask, she demands.  As a school board member you never ask staff to handle personal duties.

NO RESPECT FOR STAFF TIME

Jimenez would change meetings or fail to attend meetings she demanded with staff.  This wasted staff time and district money.  After numerous complaints about last minute cancellations, no show, or just talking about personal items, the Superintendent requested these weekly meetings at schools and the district office stop or Jimenez honor the time committments and submit agendas so staff could prepare.

Jimenez voted to terminate the Superintendent because of Jimenez's attitude she is above the rules and everyone works for Jimenez.

WHY RECALL EILEEN MIRANDA JIMENEZ

Mike Spence and Steve Cox term of office ends November 2011.  They are within the 6 month window of the end of their term of office.  State law does not allow a recall within this window for Spence and Cox.  Ms. Jimenez's term does not end until November 2013, thus she is eligible for recall.

Jimenez promised and was elected to represent the resident's of West Covina, not the interests of a New York, For-Profit Corporation.  We all want the best for our children, but when you hold office, promised to represent all of West Covina Unified, and vote on what is best for your children, while ignoring the needs of all children - it is time for you to leave office.
